As one of this country's dominant watercolor artists, she maintains a refreshing painterly quality, which is refined, yet unpretentious and gleefully naive at times. Ormsby's sources of inspiration seem to be as eclectic as the media with which she works. She varies her subject matter with whim and ease, and can seemingly paint anything which strikes her fancy.
